Accredited schools, universities, and academic research groups running courses, labs, or student projects.
Nonprofits and NGOs
Registered nonprofits, charities, and non-governmental organizations, applying with their organization's email domain.

How much is the Ember education and nonprofit discount?
Eligible students, educational institutions, and nonprofits pay €1 per seat per month instead of the standard €5 per seat per month for Teams. It includes every Teams feature.
Who qualifies for the discount?
Accredited educational institutions and their students and staff, as well as registered nonprofits and NGOs. You need to apply using a verified organizational email domain such as .edu, .ac, .org, or an equivalent.
Do I need the discount if I'm working alone?
Probably not. Ember is free forever with unlimited projects and tasks and 2 collaborator seats. The discount only matters once you invite more than 2 people.
What does the discount cost for a class or team?
Your own account never counts as a seat, and your first 2 collaborators are free. A teacher with a class of 30 students pays for 28 seats: €28 per month instead of €140 on the Teams plan.
Is the discount applied automatically?
No. Contact us at hello@theember.app from your organization's email address and we'll verify your eligibility and apply the reduced pricing to your account.
Is student and nonprofit data kept private?
Yes. Ember is built in the EU and GDPR-compliant by design. There's no behavioral tracking, no ads, no selling of data, and no AI trained on your content.
